2017-05-09;6:30pm - 8:30pm;V1201, 12/F, Jockey Club Innovation Tower, Hong Kong Polytechnic University

The newly formed Innovation & Technology Bureau of the Hong Kong Government outlined several initiatives in late 2015. They are Smart Cities, Healthy Aging, Re-industrialization, to name a few. Are these initiatives connected in some underlying manner? And how?

This talk uses several global trends as the framework to connect these dots. Specifically, these global trends include: a) population growth and its patterns; b) rising middle class; c) urbanization; d) resource stress & climate changes; and e) new technologies.

Geopolitical issues will not be considered. The audience will gain a picture of where opportunities and concerns are.
