(Supported Event) Build a Secure Cyberspace 2017 Smart Home, Safe Living

Date, time & venue

2017-04-21;2:30pm - 5:25pm;Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon

The Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT), the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) jointly organise an information security seminar.

Nowadays, many household appliances, such as surveillance cameras and robot vacuum cleaners, as well as cars, are smart enough to be controlled and monitored over the Internet. This not only facilitates daily activities, but also enables smart living. However, while we are enjoying the convenience and comfort brought about by the smart living environment, new attack surfaces have emerged. Our living is now as exposed as ordinary computer devices to cyber attacks. Without proper security measures in place, smart home devices and cars can get infected with malware and even be fallen into hackers’ control.

In view of this, we organise the seminar and invite information security experts to share their experiences on the subject. By raising the awareness and understanding of the threats, we hope businesses and individuals can better prepare for the safe and smart living. You are cordially invited to participate in the event. The details of the seminar are as follows:

Date 21 April 2017 (Friday)
Time 2:30pm – 5:25pm (Registration starts at 2:15pm.)
