Chairman's message (Session 2024/2025)

Dear members of the IT Division,

It is my great honor to be elected as Chairman of the IT Division for Session 2024/2025. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt to all the Past Chairmen and Committee Members for their outstanding dedication and hard work in leading this to where it stands today. A special thanks goes to Ricky, for his extraordinary leadership and great achievements in last year.

As we move forward, we are facing a rapidly changing IT landscape, with new and emerging technologies continuing to transform the way we live and work. Currently, Hong Kong and the IT industry have been faced different challenges. Amongst these challenges, the IT Division is committed to contribute two areas: Enhancing the I&T Ecosystem and Talent Development.

The Division will organize a wide range of quality activities on AI, Cybersecurity and Engineering Education including technical seminars, research and industrial visits. Besides the local industries, some activities will be arranged with international and GBA (Greater Bay Area) leading technology companies, research centers and other organizations. We also plan to coordinate seminars on general topics of interest, such as management skills, personal development, and lifestyle enrichment, to help you develop your career and improve your overall well-being.

In addition, we will continue to collaborate with other industry professionals to organise the flagship Robocon and Mini Robocon Competitions, as well as the STEM activities for secondary school students, which aims to provide a platform for young talent to demonstrate their technological innovation and application development skills.

As always, we welcome your valuable suggestions and feedback, and we look forward to meeting you in our activities. Let us continue together to drive innovation and excellence in the IT field and contribute to the betterment of society.
